About the Exhibit
University of Hawaiʻi- West Oʻahu
Students from the University of Hawaiʻi-West Oʻahu, with the direction of their instructor Dr. Christy Mello, have come together to create an interactive museum exhibit entirely online that explores the topic of war and highlights its impacts on material culture, cultural sites, and identity.
We are highlighting the importance of cultural diversity. Over the Spring 2020 semester, our focus shifted to featuring untold stories for telling the story of how WWI impacted people around the world in both different and common ways. COVID-19 became a part of this exhibit that unites us all and to those who lived through WWI.

WWI informational posters are featured from the Smithsonian Museum with a series of critical questions, as well as students' posters. Images of artifacts from the Honolulu Museum of Art's Lending Collection are also displayed for celebrating diversity and illustrating everyday life, disrupted by war and disease.
