Village in a Bottle

The village in a bottle is a crafted souvenir. It is designed to give a sense of the Filipino lifestyle in a village. The village in a bottle consists of two hut-like homes, coconut trees and two figures, both of women, doing chores around the home.

Bontoc Head Basket

Two types of suklang (basketry hats) are worn by the Bontoc, one by married men and one by bachelors. The hats are worn at the back of the head. Hemispherical hats are worn by the married men and are not decorated. The low flat hats worn by the bachelors are adorned with red and yellow strips of rattan, dog’s teeth, boar’s tusks, shells or buttons. Personal items are tucked inside the hat.
